ENGAGEMENT SESSION AT OAK ISLAND BEACH, NORTH CAROLINA



There's just nothing sweeter than the privilege of capturing a surprise proposal - especially when it happens on the beach! This little beach town just outside of Wilmington, North Carolina is one of my favorite places. Oak Island, NC is quiet,  laid-back, and seriously perfect for moments like this.

When Braxton reached out to plan a beach proposal for Miranda, he told me he wanted it to feel relaxed and intimate – nothing too staged, just real emotions and a beautiful backdrop. And that’s exactly what it turned out to be. From the second they stepped onto the sand, you could feel how absolutely head-over-heels these two are for each other.

I hid in the dunes and photographed their special moment without Miranda ever knowing I was there. When he got down and popped the question, Miranda lit up with the happiest, most genuine smile, and all of the happy tears! And you can bet I was crying while I captured this one. After she said yes and they were officially engaged, we took some time to capture the most stunning couples portraits. These two laughed and smiled and never took their eyes off of each other. You absolutely cannot pose that type of joy!
